ARCHITECTURE URBAN PLANNING
DOWNTOWN STATEN ISLAND BAY STREET
Urban design plan and proposal for a special zoning and cultural district on the North Shore. The proposal envisioned the reinvention of the Bay Street Corridor and its four Town Centers: St. George, Tompkinsville, Stapleton and Clifton as the Borough’s premier downtown and cultural center. It designated development zones and neighborhood blocks and waterfront access points, and a zoning and bulk strategy designed to encourage redevelopment as an arts district. It also outlined an implementation strategy and future work plan for the client, the Downtown Staten Island Council.
